Birthday dinner

My birthday is coming up and Ryan's is 10 days after. We usually go out to dinner for my birthday and I cook his favorite meal for his birthday. Then there is Valentine's Day right after!! Good grief! Anyways, we are trying to figure out where to go for dinner. Not an expensive place and not a regular place (ie. Chili's, Red Robin, Islands) that we go to often. Any suggestions on good places to eat? Leave me a comment...it's next week! :-) Thanks!!

Fred's by the Pier was my sister's suggestion. We like a Mexican place called Cantamars on Bolsa Chica almost to Warner. Or SUper Mex. I must be craving Mexican. Thats all I can think of this late.

my favorite restaurant for special occasions is yen chings in orange. it's chinese and super yummy. kyla loves it too (i told her about it years ago). if you get the meal for two, i believe it's 18-20 per person. so not super cheap but you'll have left overs and it's really good. get the sizzling rice soup if you go. it's the best!

My favorite restaurant, Carrabba's Italian Grill, is sadly not located in California :( But P.F. Chang's is good (get the lettuce wraps...so tasty), and I'm always partial to Brazilian restaurants. I don't know which ones are good in So-Cal--I think we went to one in West Covina called Greenfield Churrascaria. That was quite tasty. =) Happy early birthday!

Melanie, if I was in California, Jim and I would go to Stone Fire Grill on Brookhurst in FV. It's casual dining and reasonably priced. My favorite this is BBQ chopped salad with tri-tip. Don't order the breadsticks however. It was our last meal leaving CA 1 1/2 years ago and we had to have it everytime we go back. They have pizzas and regular meals. The garlic mashed potatoes are also yummy. Tri-tip is yummy.

Okay, My favorite is Inka Grill in Costa Mesa. It is peruvian food. I get the lomo saltado. Mmmmmm Not that pricey either.

Our favorite pricer place is Flemings. That is our big treat for our anniversary each year. Sooooo Goooood!

We love Big Ed's. It has Mexican & Puerto Rican food. It's kind of a hole in the wall place but the food is so good. It's on Lincoln and Walker in the same shopping center as Radio Shack (SW corner).
