Santa...scary??

What is it about Santa that is so scary? I don't understand!! All our kids were freaked out to sit on his lap at Lindsey's age. We had Breakfast with Santa on Saturday and Lindsey wanted nothing to do with Santa, as you can tell. Poor thing! And we were forcing her to sit there just so that we could get a picture! We are such mean parents!

Family Night at Downtown Disney

So, we took the kids to Downtown Disney and the hotels to look at all the lights and decorations. We had fun taking pictures. The kids were really good and we all had a fun time. We really like this time of year because we make sure that we do things together as a family and just enjoy each other. By the way, Evan took that picture of Ryan and I. Pretty good!!

Among all the hustle and bustle...

We had a really nice lesson on Sunday at Church. It was about making sure that the Christ is the center of Christmas. Unfortunately I was only able to enjoy the first portion of the lesson because the rest of the time I was walking the halls with my ALMOST 18-month-old (can't wait!!). But, it's true that there are so many things that happen this time of year. I sometimes hate turning the calendar to December because it fills up so fast. But, all the things that happen...I love. Like family nights and parties. It's just hard to balance all of them. Oh, and then to remember Christ during all of this. I am especially going to try to make sure that my children know the true meaning of Christmas. They are good about saying that it's Jesus' birthday, but they need to understand and realize the importance of this special holiday. I truly enjoy getting together with family and sharing stories and just being in a room filled with love. Hey...that's the meaning of Christmas right there! Christ has so much love for us and being with those we love shows that.

We are doing something fun with the kids for Family Night tonight. I will have pictures to post in the next day or so. Merry Christmas!!

What I am most thankful for...

The one thing that is most precious to me and what I am truly thankful for is my family. I have a wonderful husband who loves me dearly and takes such good care of me. And, I have 4 beautiful children. They make me crazy sometimes, but I am so thankful to have them in my life. What blessing could be greater than to have an eternal family? I am so grateful to know that we will be together forever. When I asked the kids what they are thankful for, they all said family. So, I must be doing something right, huh? I hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving this week and that you can think of all the many things that you are thankful for this year.

What Flavor Ice Cream Are You??

Is this perfect, or what?!?!

You Are Strawberry Ice Cream

A bit shy and sensitive, you are sweet to the core.
You often find yourself on the outside looking in.
Insightful and pensive, you really understand how the world works.

You are most compatible with chocolate chip ice cream.

HELP!!

Ok...I really need your help! We are taking our family pictures on Monday night. I am having a hard time trying to decide what to have everyone wear. Last year we were all in pastel colors. The year before it was yellows and browns. So, I need any and all suggestions! I would prefer to not have to go out and buy anything. I just need a good color scheme or something. Please post a comment and let me know your thoughts. (Annie...I would love to hear what you think, since you are a pro!) Thanks so much!! I look forward to hearing your ideas!!

Bremer Beginnings

I'm so excited!! I got tagged!! This is fun! I hope you enjoy hearing about us...then I'll tag!

1. Where Did You First Meet Your Husband?
We met at the Singles Ward in Garden Grove.
2. What Was The First Thing You Said To Your Husband?
"Can I give you a kiss?" Actually, I don't know if that's the FIRST thing I said, but here's the story...In Relief Society after the lesson, the teacher passed out Kisses. So, as I was walking down the hall, after class, I met Ryan in the hall and asked him if I could give him a kiss. Everyone was around. He was a little embarrassed. After going back and forth, he sorta leaned in towards me and I handed him a Hershey's Kiss!! It was sooo funny!!!
3. Where Was Your First Date?
Our first date was dinner and a movie. We went to Subway and then we saw "Independence Day". Yes...we are old!! I was actually making plans with my friend that night, but told her if Ryan called, it would change. How did I even know he was going to call?!?!
4. Where Was Your First Kiss?
On our first date, he kissed me on the forehead. On the second date, he kissed me on the cheek. I believe that our first kiss was the day I got my new car and I believe it was in the Rite Aid parking lot. I remember thinking, "Geez...I have some teaching to do!!" hahaha!!
5. Did You Have A Long Or Short Engagement/Courtship?
We dated for 2 months (seeing each other pretty much every day) and were engaged for 6 months (I had to wait until I got my braces off. Couldn't have wedding pictures as a brace face! The braces were off April 1st and we were married April 19th)
6. Where Did You Get Engaged?
The plan was to go to the beach, but Ryan was a little too anxious, I think. We were at his High School football game from the school he graduated from watching the homecoming game. We left a little early. As we were driving in the parking lot, he said that he had forgotten something in the trunk. He fumbled back there for a little bit and then opened my door and got on his knee. He had a white heart-shaped pillow in one hand with a Cinderella glass slipper on it. In the slipper was a ring! Hershey's Kisses were also on the pillow (a little significant, don't 'cha think?) He read me part of the Cinderella story...the part where the slipper fits. He told me that he has made two great decisions in his life: 1 was to serve a mission and the other is to ask me to marry him. Awwwww!!!!
7. Where Were You Married?
We were married in the Los Angeles Temple.
8. Where Did You Go On Your Honeymoon?
We went to San Francisco. The wedding night we stayed in the Honeymoon Suite at the Disneyland Hotel. Beautiful!!
9. Where Was Your First Place Together?
A little 1 bedroom apartment in Anaheim, CA
10. How Long Have You Been Married?
10 years...going on 11. I can't even believe it!!

Ok now it's your turn.... tag: Jenny, Carrie, Kyla, Annie, Debbie, JoEllen, LeeElle, & Cori! Can't wait to read what you write!
It's a fun way to get to know each other's "Beginnings".

Happy Halloween!!

Well, here they are. We have Belle, The Flash, a cute little clown (see Tiff, she's cute, right?!) and Jeff Gordon...the NASCAR driver. The kids had a fun time trick-or-treating. We have so much candy...it's disgusting!! The neighborhood was a little quiet. I don't know where everyone was. Maybe next year we will have to go to someone's ward party that night or something. Fun costumes!!

Halloween Party

We went to my sister's Halloween Party. It was an Adult costume party. It was a lot of fun. She had fun games and we got to meet some really nice people.

Well, here's the moment of truth...here are our costumes!! I think that they turned out really good. What do you think?? I have also included a picture of my sister and her husband. Her real hair...yes. His real hair...no. They were dressed as EMO people. I don't even know how to say that. I am so not hip!! hahah!!

Our Spoooooky Dinner

Tonight we had the Armstrong family over for dinner. But, it wasn't just any kind of dinner...it was a spooky dinner! We started this tradition last year and the kids really enjoyed it. For dinner, we had Bloody Worms and Eyeballs (spaghetti and meatballs) with moldy cheese on top, worm juice (lemonade) with spider ice cubes, and batty bread. It sure was yummy. We had all the lights off and just lit a ton of candles. Of course we had spooky Halloween music playing.

Everyone had name cards. There was Dangerous Daddy, Monster Mommy, Evil Evan, Terrifying Tyler, Haunted Heidi and Lifeless Lindsey. Then for our guests, we had Cruel Kevin, Menacing Marianne and Creepy Kyle. It was fun trying to come up with these names.

Then for family night we made up a Halloween story and then played "telephone" with Halloween sayings...with only the light of a flashlight. Heidi said that she was "afraid of the darkness". It was a lot of fun. Then for dessert, we hard orange sherbet ice cream with chocolate chips (good use of the Halloween colors). I found this idea of doing a spooky dinner online last year and it was neat. The kids have been asking all month when our spooky dinner was going to be. It was fun again! Thanks for a fun night!!

Those crazy boys really enjoyed eating those spiders!! YUCK!! By the way, all these pictures were taken in the dark. You can't really get the full effect. The first picture is without the flash. Can you see the boys??
(S&T, you missed out...but, we missed you!! Next year...??)

Halloween Costumes

So, I decided to make our Halloween costumes this year. Nothing too creative...pretty traditional. Here are pictures of the pattern and when I get a picture of us actually wearing the costumes, I will post them and you will have to let me know how you think they turned out!

Here's Ryan's costume...a pirate.

This one is for me...the gypsy. Crazy pattern, but I am practically done! YEAH!! So, what kinds of accessories does a gypsy wear? Help...

Heidi Learns the Letter "E"

Heidi learned about the letter "Ee" for Preschool this week. They dressed up like elephants. Here is a picture of Heidi with her slinky nose and her can feet. Very cute! The kids loved it! I wish I could take the credit for something this cute and creative, but it wasn't my week to teach. Way to go Kelly!
(Uncle Scotty...this post is for you...you missed seeing Heidi, so here you go!!)

Good-bye Coronet!!

I know, you don't believe it. Well, here's the picture to prove it!! We have stored our friend's car for the last year or so while they were working on projects of their own at home and in the garage. Well, it's finally out of our garage! I can't believe it! It really was a long time, but I am sure happy to have my parking spot back! Thank you and we love you Geoff and Amy! We know you would do the same for us....

What kind of candy are you?

I took this quiz and I am a Snickers. So, what kind of candy are you? Take the quiz and post what you are on my blog!!

Yeah for Liesl!

My dear friend just recently got married. She looked so beautiful that day. It took her a long time, but she finally found Mr. Right. They are really cute and I am so happy for her. She kept a straight face during the sealing. Later I asked her what was up and her reply was that her cousin took a long time to do her make-up and she didn't want to mess it up!!!! hahaha!! She's so cute! We have been good friends for a long time. When I was Young Women's President in Anaheim, she was the Laurel advisor. That was back before Tyler was born. We have been friends ever since. She got me started on scrapbooking...thanks Liesl!! I miss scrapping with her!! :-(

Good Grief!!

So, I totally had one of those days the other day. And...it was all about Lindsey! First, she decided to walk past me as I walked into the garage to put something away and she managed to make it out into the street. A car honked and luckily enough I was able to get her. Good grief!! Then she figured out how to climb onto our kitchen chairs.

Then, while I was cooking dinner, she decided to pull the bag down of spaghetti noodles all over the floor. It looked like a huge game of Pick-up-Sticks!! So, she was making me crazy so I put her in her chair. She kept shoving her fingers down her throat and, sure enough, she gagged herself (sorry...no picture of that!). And, to make it even worse, the last thing in her body was milk. YUMMY! That was fun to clean up. So, I took off her shirt and let her eat spaghetti and she sure made a mess! Good grief!!

She sure was crazy that day, but how can you not love a face like this?!?!?

The Tooth Fairy Visits Tonight!

Tyler did it!! He lost his first tooth!! And...he pulled it out, all by himself at school! I picked him up from school today and asked him if he still had his tooth! Nope! He was so excited! Way to go Tyler!

I'm a Faithful Fan!

My favorite singer...Faith Hill just came out with her new album, "Faith Hill: The Hits". A couple new songs on it ("Red Umbrella"...love it!) and lots of her best songs. Gotta love her!!!

Like Mother, Like Son

So, my son decided that he wanted to be just like me. I can't believe that my 8-year-old needs glasses!! But, he looks so darn cute in them, don't 'cha think? He complained about seeing the board towards the end of last year and I just put off the eye exam. So when he started complaining about it again this year, I thought I'd better take him in. Sure enough, he needed glasses. He is supposed to wear them in the classroom...so he needs them for distance. I just hope that he takes good care of them! I got mine in 10th grade, and I think I was a little more responsible at that age then Evan is right now. :-)

Tyler's Award

Tyler received an award today at school for being Awesome at Timed Tests. How exciting! It's cute that the school makes up these awards for the kids. He was the first child to receive an award from his teacher for this new school year. Pretty exciting!!

Ta daa!!

Well, here we are...we are bloggers now!! I have enjoyed looking at other's blogs, but just haven't gotten around to doing one yet. Why, you ask? I have no idea. I think my brother and sister-in-law posting a blog did the trick. I always seem to send out update emails, so I think that this is going to be much easier!! And, it's kinda fun!! I hope that you have as much fun reading about our family as I do posting them!!

First Day of School

Evan and Tyler just started school. Evan is in 3rd grade and Tyler is in 1st. Time sure flies!! They have really great teachers this year and they are doing well...so far. We'll see what happens when we go to Parent/Teacher conferences in November!

My brother got married!

The most recent event in our family was my brother's wedding. He married a sweet girl named Natalie. We are happy to have her join our family. The wedding colors were brown, cranberry and ivory. Everyone looked so nice that day. They were married in the Newport Beach Temple. Lots of family and friends were there for their special day. The kids are so happy to have Uncle Todd home from his mission and a new Aunt!!
