Our Spoooooky Dinner

Tonight we had the Armstrong family over for dinner. But, it wasn't just any kind of dinner...it was a spooky dinner! We started this tradition last year and the kids really enjoyed it. For dinner, we had Bloody Worms and Eyeballs (spaghetti and meatballs) with moldy cheese on top, worm juice (lemonade) with spider ice cubes, and batty bread. It sure was yummy. We had all the lights off and just lit a ton of candles. Of course we had spooky Halloween music playing.

Everyone had name cards. There was Dangerous Daddy, Monster Mommy, Evil Evan, Terrifying Tyler, Haunted Heidi and Lifeless Lindsey. Then for our guests, we had Cruel Kevin, Menacing Marianne and Creepy Kyle. It was fun trying to come up with these names.

Then for family night we made up a Halloween story and then played "telephone" with Halloween sayings...with only the light of a flashlight. Heidi said that she was "afraid of the darkness". It was a lot of fun. Then for dessert, we hard orange sherbet ice cream with chocolate chips (good use of the Halloween colors). I found this idea of doing a spooky dinner online last year and it was neat. The kids have been asking all month when our spooky dinner was going to be. It was fun again! Thanks for a fun night!!

Those crazy boys really enjoyed eating those spiders!! YUCK!! By the way, all these pictures were taken in the dark. You can't really get the full effect. The first picture is without the flash. Can you see the boys??
(S&T, you missed out...but, we missed you!! Next year...??)

Hi honey. I liked this page you made. The dinner was fun just like last year and glad we've started a little family tradition that will last for years to come. Glad Marianne and Kevin (oh and Creepy Kyle) were able to join us for our dinner and family night. I enjoyed being home with the family today. I love you. I love you too kids.

Love,
"Dangerous" Daddy (ha ha)

What a wonderfully fun evening. I love the fun creative traditions that people have. We tried one for Halloween one year by making dinner in a pumpkin. The kids would hardly eat the dinner so we abandoned that idea!!:)

We're sorry it didn't work out. But with kids sick we didn't want to catch it (or the germs that made them so)! If everyone was in tip top shape we wouldn't have missed it! Looks like you guys had fun! Glad Kevin & Marianne could come!
