Gym Pass

We are thinking of joining a gym. Do you have any opinions about either 24-Hour Fitness or LA Fitness? We are debating between the two and wanted to know if anyone has a preference. Let me know! Post a comment! We need to exercise, so hopefully this will help. Plus, they have great classes, which I am totally interested in. Hmmm...decisions, decisions!!

I have heard nothing but good things about 24 hour fitness compared to LA Fitness. Of course you could go over to both and ask if you can take a stroll and check them out. That way you know you picked the best gym for YOU not just going soley off what others say. Cause let's face it...we can say what we want but you're paying for it. I know your mom and dad and Todd and Nat have 24 Hour passes....or so I thought. Anyway I hear LA Fitness is SUPER crowded and the equipment isn't that fantastic. i have NO idea about classes at either one...the best bet would be to go in person and ask questions....find which one fits you like a glove!

i haven't been to LA fitness, just 24 hour. My dad has belonged to 24 for years and years and was actually in a commercial with his wife for them a few years ago that aired regularly for about 3 years. he's buff. so i would go with 24 just because they have been good to my dad. not that that makes your decision any easier. i just thought i could brag a little about my dad being a buff stud.

i would go to the cheapest. they both have the same machines...so it doesnt really matter. the initial expenses are very expensive. you may have to pay first and last month with a start up fee and it can be well into the 100's. if you can, wait for a sale like "Presidents Day weekend sale" so you can get a deal. they have lots of those for almost every holiday or excuse to have one. thats what i did and only had to pay 30 bucks. also, you may want to pick a gym where you friends go so you can have someone to go with. that always gives you more inscentive to go so you're not wasting money every month by skipping out on something that isn't always the funnest. also, 24 hour has gyms all over the country. LA Fitness only has gyms in california, so if you're ever on a vacation out of state and for some reason you want to hit the gym, you could do that with 24...not LA. one last thing, before i went to 24 i was with LA. they were very unclear with wat i was getting into. unfortunately, after i signed the papers i understood what i got into. i ended up cancelling the membership before 6 months because i felt ripped off. but i was only 17 at the time too. i do like the way LA fitness is set up over how 24 is, but thats just my personal preference. also, LA fitness offers raquetball courts if either/both of you were interested in that whereas 24 hour does not.

Scott and I have a 24 hour pass. We got the three year one...paid a whole bunch up front and go whenever. It's great so are the classes!! I would say try a one day free pass first to see if you would like it.

I have had 24 hour fitness for several years. There is a small location on Springdale and Edinger by Vons that is not very crowded, but has more limited hours. Carrie and I went there together a few times. One thing you might want to check out is the babysitting. If you are planning on using it at all...prices and rooms. If I move back we can go to 24 hour together.
