Happy Birthday baby!!

I can't believe that my baby is 2 today!! She is growing up way too fast. She is such a sweet little girl and I am so blessed to have her as my baby. She is talking a lot and loves to sing. She will give me kisses and gives great squeezes! I love her to pieces and I am grateful that she is part of our family. Happy Birthday, my sweet little girl!

(Her shirt says: 50% mommy + 50% daddy = makes me 100% perfect!)

Fire boat party

The boys were invited to a birthday party in San Pedro and they got to go on a fire boat ride. It was really fun! This boat is huge!! They had a great time! The party was at the fire station and then we left for the boat ride. What a great birthday party!

AUGH!!!!

I found this picture...pretty true, huh? I am so flabbergasted with these gas prices...it's so crazy!! I am not looking forward to summer because I want to go and do all these fun things with the kids, but I don't feel like using up all my gas!! Good gravy!!

You Can Shed Tears...

This is a poem that someone included in a card to our family:

You can shed tears that he is gone,
Or you can smile because he has lived

You can close your eyes and pray that he’ll come back,
Or you can open your eyes and see all he’s left.

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him,
Or you can be full of the love you shared.

You can turn back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember him and only that he’s gone,
Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back,
Or you can do what he’d want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Memorial Day

We went to my brother-in-law and sister-in-laws house for a BBQ and to feed the ducks. We had a nice time. It was a nice end to a roller coaster of a week...especially since we went back to reality on Tuesday. We captured a cute picture of the kids and a nice family picture. Just thought I'd post them!!!

Sad News

We had a really rough day on Saturday. Ryan's dad passed away. It has been really hard on the family, of course. We are thankful that we could all be together to be one another's strengths. People have been so kind an generous with all of their thoughts and phone calls and dinners for my mother-in-law. It is so nice. We have also received some caring phone calls and offers to help out with whatever we need. It's amazing to see all of the generosity from friends and family during our time of need. We are having a funeral for him on Thursday. It is going to be a busy couple of days until then. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers. How blessed we are to know that we are an eternal family. We love you Grandpa Ray!!!!

(This is a picture of Ryan's parents and all 6 kids)

We had the funeral on Thursday. It was really wonderful. I know that he was looking down on us with a big grin on his face. He should be so proud!! We truly honored the great man that he was.

They've Got the Right Stuff!!

I can't believe that these guys are coming back...after 15 years!! I was so in love with them in junior high. I had the poster in my bedroom (of Donnie Wahlberg, of course), the pillow case, the t-shirts, the HUGE button that I pinned onto the belt loop of my jeans, the keychains. LOVED THEM!! I am hoping that their music will appeal to those of us that loved them back in the day as well as the kids now. Boy, do I feel old in saying that statement or what?!?!
